Complete Project
The Fairfield to Congress Substation Transmission Line represents the final phase of a larger project to rebuild UI’s transmission lines along the 25 miles of the Metro North Railroad(MNR) corridor between Fairfield and West Haven. In total, there are 5 phases to the project (click dropdown arrow next to a phase to display related details):
Phase 1: Baird to Congress Substation (Petition 1176) COMPLETED
Location: Stratford to Bridgeport
Project Overview: replace the existing bonnets with new tubular steel monopoles for both lines between the existing Baird Substation (Stratford) and existing Congress Substation (Bridgeport) , for a total distance of approximately 2.3 miles
Timing:
Construction Start - August, 2016
Construction Completed - April, 2020
